International Bridge Conference
The International Bridge Conference ® (IBC)
is the pre-eminent arena for the bridge industry in North
America, Europe and Asia. Sponsored by the Engineers’ Society of
Western Pennsylvania, the IBC annually attracts over 1,600
bridge owners and engineers, senior policy makers, government
officials, bridge designers, construction executives, and
suppliers from throughout the United States and abroad. Now in
it’s 29th year as an annual conference, the 2011 participants
came from 46 States and 20 countries. The IBC is planned by an
all-volunteer group and provides continuing education and
networking opportunities to members of all facets of the bridge
industry.
Make plans now to participate in the 2012 IBC! The Conference is
scheduled for June 10-13, 2012
at the David
L. Lawrence Convention Center, Pittsburgh, PA.

2012 AASHTO
Subcommittee on Bridges and Structures
The Texas Department of
Transportation (TX DOT) will be hosting the 2012 AASHTO
Subcommittee on Bridges and Structures (SCOBS) Annual Meeting at
the Hyatt Regency Hotel located in downtown Austin, Texas on
July 8-12, 2012. This is a meeting that all chief bridge
engineers from the states, FHWA, and various transportation
agencies within the US come together to develop and maintain all
major engineering standards, specifications, and principles
pertaining to the methods and procedures of bridge and
structural design, construction, fabrication, erection,
maintenance, inspection and rating. Areas of needed study and
research in the area of bridge engineering will be determined as
well as the development and promoting of policy recommendations
affecting the bridges of our nation. |
